A missing online charge does not by itself mean the record is nonpublic. Maryland removes charges ending in nolle prosequi, dismissal or acquittal/not guilty from Case Search, and removes stet charges after three years. The Judiciary also lists certain cannabis-possession charges disposed of before July 1, 2023, when they were the only charge in the case, and cannabis-possession convictions pardoned by the Governor.
These online omissions may still be publicly accessible at the courthouse. Contact the clerk where the case was heard, using the case number or party names, to ask whether the record is available. This is different from an expunged, shielded or sealed record, which is not publicly available.
